Chalet Walser

Master Suite – The Walser Master Suite is a spacious 110 square metre apartment on two levels with natural wood floors with views towards Mascognaz and Monte Rosa. On the ground floor a large living room with a sofa bed, a double bedroom with bathroom (with a bathtub and shower). Chalet Lo Miete, Monterosa Suite and Chalet Rascard

In addition to the original Chalet Lo Miete (previously called Chalet Mascognaz), the owners of the Mascognaz hamlet have now converted 2 adjacent buildings which are available to rent collectively with Lo Miete or in their own right. All 3 delightful properties are situated on the other side of the small river to the new chalets detailed above and are just steps away from the restaurant, Lo Pejo.

Collectively these 3 chalets would sleep up to 22 people. Exclusive use of the 3 chalets allows you and your group to request a specific menu which can be discussed with our staff prior to departure. Guests staying at all 3 of these chalets take breakfast and evening meal at Chalet Lo Miete.

Room 1 – Double room with en-suite bathroom with shower. Smaller room

Room 2 – Twin or double room with en-suite bathroom with shower

Four of the rooms have showers and two have baths – if you have a preference, please do let us know at the time of booking. There is a seventh room, but access to this room is via an exterior door. By the very fact that the chalet is converted from an ancient farm building, the rooms vary in shape and size, but are all charming.

Lo Stadel

Lo Stadel is a small chalet made up of two Junior Suites – one on the ground floor and one on the upper floor. Both are twin / doubles with room for a third bed in the living area. The en-suite bathrooms have baths with showers over.

The ground floor Suite has an open plan living area with comfy sofas, a dining table and a stunning panoramic window with breath taking views across the valley. The ground floor Suite also has a small separate room with a set of bunk beds in. The upper floor apartment is a similar layout, but without the large panoramic window.

Monterosa Suite

Sleeps up to 4 / 5 people in 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

The Monterosa Suite is a detached luxurious Suite with stunning views from picture windows and just a few steps from Chalet Lo Miete. Furnished in beautiful alpine style with exposed stone walls and timbers, it’s a romantic hideaway that’s perfect for a honeymoon. Antique furniture and rich fabrics complement that open-plan layout to create a warm, cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Not suitable for families with younger children due to the open staircase that leads up to the bedrooms. An extra bed can be accommodated if required.

Chalet Rascard

Sleeps up to 4 people with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

A barn conversion, Chalet Rascard sits next door to the restaurant Lo Pejo. The cosy interior and central living room gives guests space to relax while the bedrooms provide the perfect place to rest after a long day. Cosy and furnished with deep rugs and dark wood, the two double/twin bedrooms lead on to en-suite bathrooms where you can soak away your aches from the slopes. One bedroom has a shower and the other a bath, so you can choose which suits you best.

3 Reviews for Hotellerie de Mascognaz

  1. Karen Jordan on

What a magical place. The ride up to the hotel in the land rover was an adventure, but the Ski-doo ride (once the snow was deeper) was even better!
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the hotel has a great atmosphere. The food was delicious and there is a daily changing menu. They even provided a special vegetarian menu for me every night. Pre-dinner drinks can be taken in the building with reception with a welcoming open fire and a really cosy small bar behind reception.
Some of the rooms and the spa are a short walk from the main building, but this just adds to the charm of the place especially when its snowing.
We chose to stay 4 nights in Champoluc and 3 at the Mascognaz, which worked well, as it does take a little longer to get to the slopes each day from Mascognaz. As usual the service of the Ski2 team was excellent.

A rare and special place. Narnia! A place which withholds its history while giving modern and excellent service. The buildings have been allowed to retain their exterior charm while inside all is as you could want.
Delicious lunch menu. Evening menu not quite as delicious. Not a hotel for children as the food is a little complex. The spa and gym are just perfect after a day on the slopes and the walk over to is is totally magical. A place to return again and again.

I loved the drama of this place – on arrival we were ferried up the slope to the hotel in our own personal skidoo, to the rustic huddle of buildings peeping out from under huge snowfall. The picture windows of our suite on the ground floor of Lo Stadel framed the most gorgeous views over the Champoluc valley. Dinners in the restaurant at Lo Miete were to a high standard, with plenty of choice on the wine list. Breakfast was well-presented with more than sufficient choice. We enjoyed the complimentary selection of meats and cheeses that were presented in the bar area to accompany our pre’s each evening. The combination of this Hotellerie & Ski-2’s on and off piste hospitality made for a fantastic break. We’re already planning our return visit for next year.

    Graham McGregor-Smith’s hotel rating: 5
